WORLD CAKE ARTISTRY AWARDS 2027 SET TO BRING GLOBAL CAKE EXCELLENCE TO DUBAI

International cake artists from around the world prepare for a major celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and global recognition in June 2027

Dubai, UAE — June 2027 — The World Cake Artistry Awards (WCAA) is preparing to bring its second international edition to Dubai in June 2027, bringing together cake artists, pastry professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and creative talents from across the world.

Founded in the Maldives, the World Cake Artistry Awards was created as an international platform dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievement in cake artistry, pastry, baking, sugarcraft and edible art.

Following its inaugural awards in the Maldives in 2026, WCAA is now taking its next major step onto the international stage with WCAA 2027 Dubai, planned for 7–8 June 2027.

79 COUNTRIES CONNECTED THROUGH CAKE ARTISTRY

The journey toward Dubai has already attracted remarkable international interest, with the WCAA network now connecting participants and representatives across 79 countries.

Applications for the 2027 edition opened in July 2026, welcoming cake artists and professionals from different cultures and creative backgrounds to present their work for international consideration.

The awards recognize excellence across a wide range of disciplines, including wedding cakes, painted cakes, modelling, royal icing, sugar flowers, cupcakes, sculpted cakes, chocolate showpieces, gravity-defying creations, mirror glaze, pastry and other areas of professional cake artistry.

WCAA also aims to recognize the wider industry — including educators, businesses, retailers, emerging talents and individuals whose contributions have helped advance cake artistry internationally.

DUBAI 2027: MORE THAN AN AWARDS NIGHT

The 2027 edition is being developed as more than a traditional awards ceremony.

WCAA plans a two-day international program in Dubai, bringing together creative talent, tourism, business networking and international collaboration.

The first day is planned to feature an international exhibition, business-to-business networking and Maldives–Dubai tourism promotion activities, creating opportunities for artists, businesses, suppliers, organizations and industry professionals to connect.

The second day will culminate in the prestigious World Cake Artistry Awards 2027 Grand Gala Night, where selected winners and honorees will be celebrated on an international stage.

The gala is being planned to welcome approximately 500 invited guests, finalists, industry representatives, partners and international personalities.

THE VISION OF MUJUTHABA ABDULLA

At the heart of the World Cake Artistry Awards is its Founder and Executive Chairman, Mujuthaba Abdulla, a Maldivian culinary professional, pastry chef, educator and event organizer whose career spans more than two decades.

With over 23 years of experience in the culinary field, including more than 21 years in pastry, Abdulla has dedicated a significant part of his professional journey to culinary education, cake artistry and creating opportunities for emerging talent.

His vision in establishing the World Cake Artistry Awards was not simply to create another awards ceremony, but to develop a platform capable of connecting talented people across borders.

“My dream is to create opportunities where talent can be seen, respected and celebrated internationally. Cake artistry has no borders. Through WCAA, we want artists from every part of the world to feel that their creativity has a place on the global stage.”

From its beginnings in the Maldives to its growing presence across dozens of countries, Abdulla’s vision is centered on building international relationships while creating greater visibility for cake artists, pastry professionals and the wider creative food industry.

FROM THE MALDIVES TO THE WORLD

The inaugural World Cake Artistry Awards was held at Kurumba Maldives on 12 February 2026, marking the beginning of WCAA’s international journey.

The first edition attracted 834 nominations representing 38 countries, with approximately 240 finalists and 65 awards, establishing a foundation for the organization’s future international expansion.

For its second edition, WCAA selected Dubai, one of the world’s most internationally connected destinations, as the setting for the next chapter.

The move represents an important milestone for an initiative founded in the Maldives and developed with a global ambition.

BUILDING A GLOBAL CAKE COMMUNITY

Beyond the awards themselves, WCAA is working toward a broader international ecosystem connecting cake artists, pastry chefs, home bakers, educators, students, businesses, suppliers and organizations.

Through its international ambassadors, judges, competitions, educational activities and the WCAA Global Cake Community, the organization aims to encourage professional development, knowledge sharing, collaboration and international recognition.

The initiative reflects a simple idea at the heart of Mujuthaba Abdulla’s vision: talent should have the opportunity to be discovered regardless of nationality, geography or background.

THE ROAD TO DUBAI

Applications for the World Cake Artistry Awards 2027 are scheduled to remain open until 31 December 2026, followed by the international judging process from January to March 2027.

Finalists will be announced online, while winners are expected to receive their recognition on stage during the Dubai Grand Gala.

As artists from around the world prepare for the next chapter, World Cake Artistry Awards 2027 Dubai is positioning itself as an international meeting point for creativity, craftsmanship, culture and professional recognition.

From an idea born in the Maldives to a growing network spanning 79 countries, the journey continues toward Dubai.
